This award recognizes and honors an individual or group of individuals who have supported, promoted, and encouraged girls and women to strive to achieve personal or professional growth through the use of, employment in, or leadership in information technology or a related field, where women are traditionally underrepresented.
Award Winners must have
- Dedicated time and/or resources to support girls' and women's participation and advancement in information technology or a related field for a sustained period of time.
- Demonstrated leadership in involving education, business or community members to achieve shared objectives relating to increasing diversity in information technology or a related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating and sustaining pathways for all individuals to enter and/or remain in IT or related technology fields.
- Demonstrated commitment to developing gender equity in all fields.
- Persevered in his or her efforts despite resistance or lack of support or resources.
- Served as a role model, supporter, and mentor to others in the achievement of their objectives.
