MDWIT Welcomes Top Regional Leadership to Its Board of Trustees for 2010

WASHINGTON, D.C. and BALTIMORE, MD (1/19/10) – The Multinational Development of Women in Technology (MDWIT) voted unanimously to add the following individuals to its Board of Trustees from 2010 – 2013. These new top level leaders represent regional and national colleges, universities, and businesses ranging from small technology start-ups to a major multinational corporation. The new Board will facilitate the continued growth and development of MDWIT to increase globally the leadership of women in all areas of technology. The new members include the following women and men:
- Kimberly Brown, Ph. D. CEO/President, Amethyst Technologies, LLC
- Patricia Elizondo, Senior Vice President, Major Accounts Industry Operations, North American Solutions Group, Xerox Corporation
- Lynne Feingold, Executive Program Officer, US Department of the Treasury Executive Institute; CEO, Mindspring
- Heidi Fletcher, Vice President for Enrollment Management, College of Notre Dame of Maryland
- Lakeisha Grant, CEO, Virtual Enterprise Architects
- Michael Netzer, Academic Dean School of Applied and Information Technology, Community College of Baltimore County
- Loyce Pailen, Associate Provost, Office of Instructional Services and Support, University of Maryland University College
- Nicole M. Waddell, President and CEO, Virtual Link, LLC
“What an honor it is for me to be elected to the MDWIT board,” said Heidi Fletcher, vice president for enrollment management at College of Notre Dame of Maryland. “Empowering women by increasing their participation in technology is an area in which I want to be an active player. I am eager to work with my fellow board members to increase opportunities for women in leadership in technology.”
“With women now at an all time low for enrollment in areas like computer science, the region will be challenged to stay nationally and internationally competitive,” said to Claudia Morrell, CEO of MDWIT. “This board will have a huge challenge to reverse current trends, but we are confident of success. Indeed for our own safety and well being, we cannot fail.”
